Making your event safe and legal

When organising your charity event it is important to think about the health and safety of staff, volunteers, participants and members of the public, and to do your best to minimise any risks.

Download our factsheets Making your event safe & legal and Children & Young Persons Safeguarding Principles at Events for handy checklists of areas you should review when organising an event.

Cross-infection policy

Cross-infection poses a particular threat to people with cystic fibrosis, so they should never meet each other in person. The following policy lays out the rules for people with cystic fibrosis attending indoor and outdoor events organised by the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, or our branches, groups and committees.

Cross-infection policy: guidance for people with cystic fibrosis at events and meetings.

We are very grateful for your support and are delighted that you are thinking about organising a fundraising event, but the Cystic Fibrosis Trust cannot accept liability for any fundraising activity you undertake. If you require insurance there are organisations that can help, such as Event insurance services.
