Live music events are a great way to have fun with friends and family, raise vital funds and introduce people to our fight for a life unlimited by cystic fibrosis. However, there are a few things to think of before you get stuck in.
Take a look at our guide to organising a live music event!
1. Plan well in advance!
Leave yourself plenty of time! Large events can take a year to organise and may need local authority approval.
2. Book the entertainment
Book entertainment well in advance from reliable sources. Why not contact local bands or ask friends if they know anyone who could perform?
3. Check schedules
Make sure there aren't any events happening at the same time as your event. This could include national events like football matches, the Olympics or Eurovision, or local events in your town or city.
Arrange to have volunteers help with your event, and remind them it's for a great cause! If it's outdoors you will need parking attendants, portaloos and marquees and people to help you set them up.
Invite local food vendors (burger vans etc), making sure they have the necessary licenses, specifically those issued by the Food Standards Agency.
6. Ask for sponsorship
Local business may be able to help with your event, or donate things like food and prizes, in return for advertising at your event.
7. Market your event
Advertise in your local community newsletter and press, or on your local radio stations. Remember, social media can make all the difference - set up an event, share it with all your friends and encourage them to do the same!
8. Get advice and support
