Other emerging technologies

In the next few years, some research will focus on new and emerging technologies and their application to cystic fibrosis, including induced stem cell therapy, genomic editing and synthetic biology.

These newer technologies have the potential to limit the impact of poor or non-existent CFTR function, making a significant improvement to the daily life of those living with cystic fibrosis.

Treatment in the future could comprise a cocktail of different therapies (small molecules/gene therapy/other approaches) and other technologies.
